Hang on to your eclipse glasses. The day has finally arrived as this Monday marks the insanely buzzed-about total solar eclipse in Leo. While there are two solar eclipses every year, this one is the first to be visible in the United States since 1979. Those fortunate enough to have scored an Airbnb in the Oregon Outback — or a ticket to Oregon Solarfest — will watch the moon effectively block out the sun for a brief window of time in the late morning to early afternoon. In astrology, the sun is associated with the father. It rules the ego, our appearances, and our stylistic swagger. Mama moon, on the other hand, is governess of our emotions, desires, and intuition. All hail the queen! During this ultra-special Leo new moon (which is also the second in a rare pair, following up from the July 23 new moon in Leo), women will be called into power and leadership. Could your name be on the ballot in 2018? Is there another realm you're ready to reign? Let yourself be inspired and empowered by Monday's moonbeams. And with structured, stabilising Saturn flipping out of retrograde on Friday, your plan of action could fall into place pretty quickly.

There's lots more action in the skies this week, too. On Tuesday, the sun does a costume change, shedding Leo's embellished bodysuit for Virgo's preppy white shirtdress. Yep, it's Virgo season until September 22, a time that's more about planning and productivity than unbridled excess. But with indulgent Venus sweeping into Leo from Saturday until September 19, embrace the art of "healthy hedonism," finding pleasure in movement (hello dance-based cardio) and swapping out processed food for organic produce and lean protein. Nothing like that natural glow!

Virgo
August 23 to September 22

Still hanging on to that one, Virgo? Whether it's an outdated job, toxic friendship, or a grudge, you'll have no choice but to let it go this Monday when a potent solar eclipse radiates in your 12th house of surrender and release. If you don't, the situation may be "eclipsed out" of your life. Change can be scary, we get it. But what's actually more frightening is being stuck eternally in something that's not really right for you. Do you need to bury the hatchet? While you may never forget, try to forgive. It's a gift you give yourself, actually, because it creates the space for you to move on to something new and improved. Since this is a solar eclipse, it arrives with a new moon, which means it's sparking a six-month cycle of renewal. Even if you make a slow and gentle exit, moving on now means clearing the space for something amazing to flow in by the corresponding lunar(full moon) eclipse on January 31.

Not that you'll have to wait that long. On Tuesday, the heavens hit the refresh button on your life as the sun sails into your sign until September 22. It's officially Virgo season, a time when you'll feel inspired to take initiative and embrace the new. Don't force yourself to choose a favourite flavour for the next four weeks. First, enjoy life's sampler platter. There's so much out there that you haven't even experienced yet, so why limit yourself? With serious Saturn ending a four-plus-month retrograde in your home zone on Friday, you might even try a flat swap with a friend (or two) in another city to see what it would be like to live in another part of the country...or world.

Libra
September 23 to October 22

Have you found your soul squad, Libra? This Monday, an energising solar eclipse in Leo strikes your 11th house of community and collaboration. You've always been game to partner up, but how about expanding that plus-one criteria to a plus-three, -five or even -eight? This eclipse serves to remind you that there is strength in numbers... if you cast for a dream team. If you've been pulling extra weight for a slacker or trying to force a coalition with a halfhearted crew, switch it up, stat. No need to suffer through it or even offer an ultimatum. This isn't working out, Libra, so keep it moving. After the tension passes you'll all realise that you're happier with this arrangement. Eclipses can bring surprises and this week you could literally stumble into a group or organisation that was made for 2017 you. And with productive Saturn turning direct in your local activities zone on Friday, this crowd could be parked in your very own postcode.

Despite your buzzing social schedule, make sure you have enough room in your schedule for solitary dream time, too. On Tuesday, the sun slips into Virgo and your transitional 12th house for a month. This is the final month in your annual zodiac cycle. On September 22, Libra season will begin. Is there any baggage you'd like to release before then? Whether you're processing the emotional variety with a great therapist or hawking couture for some extra cash at Crossroads (or a consignment site), it's time to lighten your load. Blurred boundaries could be leading to exhaustion and making you late for your commitments. Pro tip: Start saying "no" more often! Your serenity depends on it.

Scorpio
October 23 to November 21

Game of thrones, anyone? Monday's solar eclipse in your ambitious 10th house calls forth your leadership skills. You're naturally competitive, Scorpio, even if you keep that fact well hidden. But instead of fighting for control of King's Landing, this eclipse, which falls in the sign of expressive, individualistic Leo, helps you carve out your own niche. What could you do for hours, even if you never earned a penny? That may be a clue to your future career path. As the classic Confucius quote says, "Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." Still just figuring it all out? Working alongside powerful people — and earning loyalty points with your devotion and work ethic — can help you build up a contact database that will serve you well in the future. Today you may be humbly fetching coffee. By the lunar eclipse in Leo on January 31, you could have a weightier set of responsibilities. And making more money too, since on Friday, stabilising Saturn barrels ahead in your income zone after a four-and-a-half-month retrograde.

Having friends in the right places is also a good strategy for building the life you want to have. On Tuesday, the sun sails into Virgo and your outgoing third house, bringing out the shameless flirt and social butterfly in you. Mingle without an agenda, but make sure you're hanging out with people with drive and ambition. You're not the type to float around without any direction, Scorpio, so these people will feel like kindred spirits. Partner up for the win! Tag team efforts could bring a sweet victory by September 22.

Sagittarius
November 22 to December 21

It's not like you to limit yourself, Sagittarius, but with careful Saturn retrograde in your sign since April 5, you haven't exactly been big on taking risks. This Friday, the taskmaster planet corrects course and powers forward through your first house of initiative. This will free you up to take more gambles — and you'll be happy to hear that on December 19, Saturn will leave your sign for nearly thirty years, which is a lot like graduating from cosmic boot camp. All that sweat and struggle has made you a much stronger person, ready for adulting on a whole new level. But you can still indulge your wild streak and your wanderlust, especially since Monday's solar eclipse will activate your ninth house of travel and worldly adventures. An end-of-summer getaway could pop up unexpectedly and, yes, you should go if you can swing it. Or just get plans in motion for a major journey or start saving up for a retreat. With a corresponding lunar eclipse on January 31, you could be ringing in the New Year in Bali or Buenos Aires — a Sagittarius dream!

And though it's the last week of summer, your career kicks into high gear this Tuesday as the sun ascends to Virgo and your house of professional prestige and ambition until September 22. You might need to squeeze in a work-from-home day or use some of your bank holiday weekend downtime to research a project or meet up with someone who can advance your career goals. Or, just get your last days of summering in now, because when Mercury turns direct on September 5, everything will take off at a galloping pace. Put your best foot forward for fall with a seasonally transitional patchwork dress.

Capricorn
December 22 to January 19

Let's be honest, Capricorn, you wouldn't mind having a little (or a lot) more money in your pocket. As Monday's total solar eclipse lands in your second house of income, you could start thinking about earning your salary in a very different way. Slogging through the 9-5 grind can only leave you with a fixed amount each week. Unless, of course, you invest it in something like a mutual fund — or even property, if you have enough saved up or can pool funds — that will gain value over time. While you still need your play money, this eclipse is your prompt to start growing your wealth. And with your ruling planet, Saturn, ending four-plus-month retrograde on Friday, you'll definitely be craving more stability in your life. Reach up to the experts: financial advisors, money coaches, or even older relatives who are in a secure place. With their guidance, you can learn to make the most of your money.

Dig up your passport on Tuesday. With the sun shuttling into Virgo and you worldly ninth house until September 22, you could soon be summoned to another corner of the world. Opportunities could spring up from afar, so cast a wider net when searching for clients, friends, or gigs for your band. Need to expand your knowledge base — and by extension, your salary? Stretch into new terrain, figuratively speaking, by signing up for an evening class or two.

Aquarius
January 20 to February 18

Relationship reboot time! This Monday's total solar eclipse lands in Leo and your seventh house of partnerships. Paradoxically, you're both a people person and a fierce individual, Aquarius, and that can make you pickier about who you'll call your mate. If they try to fence you in or put you in a box — bye! But are you also being a little too hard to please? This eclipse can give you a glimpse into ways you might even sabotage yourself by picking people who aren't actually available (and pining for them endlessly). Pairing is about more than just caring, Aquarius. It requires you to let go a little and give other people's ideas a chance. You're totally ready for that, even if it flies in the face of your automatic wiring. Already attached? This eclipse could open up a new chapter for the two of you to explore together — one that might be worth announcing with a heartwarming Instagram.

And with the sun settling in Virgo and your intimate eighth house for a month on Tuesday, life could take a turn for the sexier. Who says relationships don't get better over time? You could discover new facets about your S.O. or friends you've known forever. But, beware the green-eyed monster. Though you need your space, when it comes to getting attention, your possessive streak could make a rare appearance between now and September 22. To keep yourself balanced and get involved in group activities. One person can't be your "everything," obviously, and as the Zodiac's team player, you can never have too many friends. With industrious Saturn ending a retrograde on Friday, you might even collaborate on a business venture this fall.

Pisces
February 19 to March 20

Feeling depleted, Pisces? Take command of your wellness this Monday. As a rejuvenating solar eclipse in Leo electrifies your sixth house of healthy routines, you'll be inspired to live a cleaner, greener, and more active lifestyle again. True, that might mean a fewer rosé slushies and Sundays spent sleeping until 3 p.m.. But the vitality boost will be worth it. Since the eclipse could also bring rapid developments on the work front, you'll appreciate having that extra energy for productivity, too. How can you work smarter instead of harder? This is the week to revamp your systems, clean out your inbox, and get set up for efficiency. With masterful Saturn waking up from a four-month retrograde in your house of professional honours this Friday, you'll want to be ready to leap into a bigger league. Polish up professional profiles and presentation materials so you're ready to put your best foot forward for fall.

Of course, all work and no play will never be the Pisces way. So, you'll be happy to hear that relationships start heating up on Tuesday as the sun swings into Virgo and your partnership and pleasure zone until September 22. People will be your passion for the next four weeks and there will be no shortage of parties to attend. The real challenge? Figuring out which plans to say "yes" to, so that you don't triple book. A casual dating situation could turn into something far more exclusive. Coupled Pisces could decide to take a big, bold step as a pair. With Mercury still retrograde until September 5, someone who ghosted you (or vice versa) could reappear this week. Worthy of a second chance? That's your call, Pisces, but the reason for the disappearance had better be a good one!

Aries
March 21 to April 19

Ready for a romantic reboot, Aries? With Monday's total solar eclipse stoking your fifth house of love, this week could be off to an amorous start. Feelings could spark up unexpectedly or a dating situation could evolve towards a new milestone. But eclipses can also mark turning points. You may have to give something up — a certain amount of freedom or a going-nowhere crush, for example — in order to gain something greater. Don't hang on to habits (or hookups) that aren't serving Cupid's highest good. With long-term planner Saturn snapping out of retrograde on Friday, put energy toward something that has a future. Coupled Rams should get serious about a shared goal; one that makes you both stronger.

Starting Tuesday, you'll have to curb some of those hedonistic habits and replace them with healthier ones. Virgo season begins as the sun changes signs and activates your sixth house of wellness until September 22. Nothing wrong with rosé slushies and lounging by the pool, but as summer turns over to fall, you'll incorporate regular movement and food that comes from nature (like these no-cook meals) into your repertoire. With work getting busier during this four-week stint, you'll need the energy!

Taurus
April 20 to May 20

Making changes on the home front could be at the top of your to-do list this week, thanks to Monday's motivating solar eclipse in Leo and your domestic fourth house. Whether you're pondering a new decor scheme or scouting for a new flatmate. Heads up: This emotionally-charged eclipse could stir up some buried issues with a close female friend or relative. Don't get caught up in a power struggle, Taurus. It's likely that you both need your own realms to reign over at this point in time. Don't be afraid to create some space and independence — it doesn't mean you're going to drift apart.

Another reason some breathing room could be a good thing? On Tuesday, the sun slinks into Virgo and your glamorous, amorous fifth house until September 22, which could spark a romantic renaissance. Leave room in your schedule for love, Taurus. If you're already attached, slip off for an end-of-summer baecation and enjoy more dress-up dates. As you gaze into each other's eyes, don't be surprised if talks turn to the future. With Saturn the builder snapping out of retrograde on Friday, some Bulls could soon be making their bonds much more serious. Think: shared bank accounts, moving in together…and even making babies!

Gemini
May 21 to June 20

New you, new crew? It could sure feel that way starting Monday, when 2017's buzzed-about solar eclipse lands in your third house of friendship and hometown happenings. Sure, you have an Instagram pal in every port, but wouldn't it be nice to have more people to hang with in real time? Log off your devices and go mingle with the locals. Not into them? This galvanising eclipse could light the fire under your feet to start scouting out more fitting neighbourhoods. If you can't move at the moment, you could become the adopted commuter in an area with a happening cultural scene. Whether you stay or go, save some white space in your schedule for nesting. On Tuesday, the sun slips into Virgo and your domestic fourth house until September 22. You could soon be shaking up pink tequila cocktails for a revolving cast of guests or hosting a weekly Game of Thrones viewing party in your living room.

Here's more news that you, the Zodiac's twin, will like hearing: Platonic partnerships (with coworkers, bandmates and other collaborators) get a boost from the eclipse. Pair up for the win. A tag team effort could bring stellar results for both of you by the corresponding lunar eclipse on January 31. Hoping for something more serious to happen on the romantic front? On Friday, stable Saturn ends a four-plus-month retrograde and zooms forward in your committed relationship zone. With minimal effort, you can attract or evolve a long-term partnership. The question is: Are you willing to stick it out, even during the "boring" moments? That ball is in your court, Gemini.

Cancer
June 21 to July 22

Have you been burning as fast as you're earning? This Monday, a total solar eclipse lands in your budget-minded second house and revs up your money mojo. It does little good to freak out about your bank balance — even if it's dangerously low as September's rent comes due. Maybe you just want to upgrade your lifestyle or save up to go back to school. Whatever the case, this eclipse could bring an epic surge of motivation. Polish up your CV and bio; circulate on LinkedIn. Word of a job offer could arrive within a month of the eclipse. If you're happily ensconced at your 9-5, put a date on the calendar in early September to sit down with your boss and discuss ways that you can grow within the company. Even if nothing is on their radar now, your dedication and initiative will keep your name at the top of the list for the future. With long-range planner Saturn pivoting out of retrograde on Friday and powering forward through your industrious sixth house, any steps you take to advance your career will be beneficial. And since eclipses bring surprises, a lucrative opportunity could pop up when you least expect it.

If the cat's had your tongue, he'll be giving it back this Tuesday as the sun swings into Virgo and your communication house until September 22. It's not always easy for your emotional sign to articulate your ideas — those words, they can escape you. But you'll find it easier to break them down into bullet points, 140 characters, and clever quips. Your social butterfly streak emerges big time during this solar cycle. Appoint yourself entertainment director and rally your squad for a generally festive start to the autumn.

Leo
July 23 to August 22

Ready for liftoff, Leo? This Monday, your life is set to launch in a new direction as a rare solar eclipse arrives in your sign. Moreover, this is the second in an unusual back-to-back pair of Leo new moons, picking up the pace on developments that began on July 23. No more putting your dreams and goals on the backburner — or putting your eggs into someone else's basket — as this eclipse temporarily "turns off the lights" and allows you to tune in to your deepest desires and intuition. You may decide to make a clean sweep after Monday or just some upgrades. Whatever the case, prioritise your happiness and let the chips fall where they may. If you have something to pitch, promote, or present, start prepping, then make your big reveal after Mercury ends its retrograde on September 5. With serious Saturn also ending a retrograde in your house of fame and creativity on Friday, use the next couple weeks to put some pro-level polish on everything that represents you.

If you've had trouble focusing, that will change on Tuesday when the sun hunkers down in Virgo and your sensible second house for a month. Sadly, this also marks the end of Leo season 2017, but hopefully you've partied like a royal and indulged liberally for your birthday. Over the past month, you'd had plenty of great ideas swirling around, not to mention inspiring conversations. Which of these plans and people are meant to be in your life for the long haul? The proof is in the pudding. And if you have to clear the slate and start fresh, no worries. Enchanting Venus makes her annual visit to Leo from Saturday until September 19, making a total people magnet out of you.
